The Trolls Are Coming!

Sadie is very excited that the new movie Trolls is coming out soon! I’ve told Sadie all about the collection of troll dolls I had as a child and she was very intrigued. I had trolls in every shape, size, and color imaginable. If I remember correctly, the highlights of my collection included a troll with pink hair that stood almost three feet tall and a troll that sparkled with my birthstone in its bellybutton. I even collected the somewhat ugly looking traditional trolls from Norway. So you can understand why I was pretty excited when I went to Petco and discovered that I could buy Sadie her very own troll, made especially for dogs. Sadie absolutely loves Poppy, her new pink troll! Although I don’t allow unsupervised playtime because I don’t want the pink hair to become a doggie snack, Sadie knows right where her troll is kept and every day she jumps up and down asking me to get it for her.

The Sweetest Trick or Treater

Sadie’s Dock Dog Daydream

Have you ever heard of Dock Dogs competitions? I’ve been watching some videos lately of these fun events where dogs leap into the water to see who can jump the highest or the furthest or fetch a toy the fastest. These competitions seem like they would be a lot of fun for athletic, high energy dogs. Unfortunately, neither of those adjectives apply to Sadie. In fact, Sadie feels uncomfortable doing any jumping and I’m not even sure if she can swim. The closest Sadie and I will come to dock diving is the time we spend daydreaming on the cute little dock in these photos. Sadie and I recently discovered this floating dock on a small lake near Sadie’s groomer. It’s a nice place to go and sit in the sun together, especially as Sadie can usually use some time to relax after the stress of a grooming appointment.

Sadie and the Sunflower Hat

I thought this sunflower hat would be the perfect fashion accessory for my little Sadie. It’s adorable, it has sunglasses, what more could you ask for? But in some of these photos my Sadie does not seem to be enjoying her new hat as much as I am. You might be thinking, “Poor, Sadie, forced to wear a stupid hat that is probably too tight or uncomfortable.” But believe it or not, it’s not the hat that has Sadie looking so pouty. It’s the grass. My dog would rather be a person most days. And as most people would agree, it’s much better to sit on a comfy chair than on the grass. So as soon as I allowed Sadie to get off the grass and onto the chair, she was smiling ear to ear, even in her silly sunflower hat.
