Sadie may look content in this photo, but that’s because the water isn’t on yet. Bath time is not a happy time for Sadie. She hates being wet, she hates being dried off. But she also hates being dirty. Unfortunately for Sadie, bath time is one of those unavoidable parts of life that you have to just put on a brave face and get through it. At least she’s stopped trying to jump out of the tub. I think Sadie finally gets the concept that if she stays still it will be over much quicker.

Delilah hates bath time too. Once many years ago, my husband threw out his back trying to get her into the tub. I’ve worked with her with treats and over time have gotten her to the point where she will stay in there, but only if I block her exit.
