Here’s my little puppy Sadie with her very first tennis ball. I remember shopping for everything I’d need to bring home my new puppy and I was so excited to stumble across this package of little pink tennis balls. They were definitely a must have for my new little princess. And in the beginning it was very fun and exciting, just like I’d imagined. I’d throw the ball and my new little puppy would zoom off after it and bring it back somewhere near my general area. It was a wonderful way to bond with my new pup.
Fast forward two years, and now Sadie looks at a tennis ball like it’s any other piece of useless human stuff lying around the house. If I throw the ball for her, she just sits there giving me a look that clearly says, “Why would I want to go after that thing? It doesn’t squeak. It doesn’t dispense food. What’s the point?” I hear all these stories about dogs wanting to play fetch all the time and obsessing over their tennis balls, and mine can’t even be bothered to pick one up. But as Sadie’s vet once told me, “She was bred to be an adorable lapdog and she does that job extremely well. What more could you ask for?”

BOL I know how you feel!
Only one out of the three of my huskies will actually chase a ball. The other two look at me like “you want it? you fetch it!”

The ball’s bigger than her! Cute pic. Thanks for sharing on the Pet Parade!
Glad she does her part well, but Jan says it is disappointing when we furries stop playing.
