This Veteran’s Day Sadie and I are making sure to honor all of the brave canine veterans who give their lives to serve and protect this country, just like all of the human veterans out there. These photos of Sadie were taken at the only official memorial to military dogs in the continental US. (There is also a US War Dog Memorial on the island of Guam.) While it doesn’t have the names of the fallen like some of the human memorials, I think this statue wonderfully portrays the grace of service and the pride that dogs feel in a job well done.

I never knew that NJ had a war dogs memorial–I just Googled and it’s not even terribly far from me! Thanks so much for sharing; this is beautiful <3
Stopping in from BlogPaws this morning. XOXO

Thanks for sharing – that’s an incredible statue. I would love to see it in person.
What a beautiful Memorial to dogs of war! I am from NY but I’ve never seen this NJ statue before. Thanks to all the humans & dogs who have served in our military!
Love & biscuits,
