This is about as close as Sadie will to get any water, aside from the bathtub (where she doesn’t have a choice) and her kiddie pool (which is awesome and you should check it out here). I know lots of dogs enjoy playing in the ocean and in little streams that we see sometimes in parks, but Sadie won’t go near any of it. Although I feel bad that Sadie might be missing out on some fun, if I’m being honest I’m actually happy she doesn’t want to jump right in. Not only do I get to avoid all the hassle of a muddy, wet dog, but I also hate the water and don’t swim very well, so I’m glad I won’t ever have to jump in to chase after her.
Sadie and I were inspired by #DogWalkingWeek to go out and explore somewhere new during one of our walks this week. Since we had to run an errand a few towns over from where we live, I decided to pick one of the parks in that town to explore. Sadie and I ended up at this really long, skinny park that was sandwiched between a very busy, four lane road and a river. It’s a fairly new park, so everything looked pristine. There was shiny new playground equipment, nice new benches, and walking/jogging paths that criss-crossed the well manicured lawn. But the park was entirely empty.
