I also really enjoyed all of the interesting facts before each story. Did you know there’s a dog collar museum in England? And that the Shar-Pei and the Chow are the only two dog breeds that don’t have pink tongues? (Their tongues are a blue/black color in case you were wondering.)

Today is the first day of a new monthly blog hop called the Pet Blogger Bloopers Round-Up. This should be a really fun event, taking place on the second Friday of each month, where bloggers can share all those silly photos that make you laugh out loud but aren’t usually considered blog worthy. I’m excited to share some of Sadie’s blooper photos and can’t wait for the smiles I know will come from looking at all the other bloggers’ bloopers. Shout out to Christina at The Lazy Pit Bull for creating this awesome way for bloggers to spread some laughter! Today I’m sharing two bloopers and one good photo from my attempts at taking some pictures of Sadie in her little pink sweater. While I’m positive that Sadie hates being cold and wants to be toasty warm whenever possible, Sadie was absolutely positive that this particular sweater was not the answer to keeping warm that day.

Today is the Winter Solstice and the shortest day of the year, which means it is officially Winter. While I broke out Sadie’s Winter hat and scarf for this photo shoot, we actually don’t need Winter gear yet in NJ. It is strangely warm on this first day of Winter and temperatures are supposed to reach almost 70° on Christmas Eve! If it’s not going to be a White Christmas, then I guess a warm Christmas is the next best thing.

It was below freezing again here yesterday. This constant back and forth of the weather is driving Sadie and I crazy. One day I can take her out for a long walk without a jacket, and the next day we’re back to huddling against the cold in our winter jackets. I had to go back into the storage bin for some of those fuzzy socks Sadie helped me put away during Spring cleaning last weekend.

What made yesterday particularly brutal was the bone-chilling wind. Sadie doesn’t like the cold too much, but only freezing wind can really stop her from having fun outside. On a typical day Sadie and I take a walk around the block before we get into our car after work. Her absolute favorite part of this excursion is the fire hydrant on the corner of the street where we work. Today I took her out like usual and she made her usual beeline to the fire hydrant. But halfway there a freezing gust of wind blew by us and Sadie freaked out. She made a single high pitched yip, turned around, and bolted as fast as she could to the car. Since she was on her flexi-leash, she got about halfway there before yanking me along with her. We are so ready for Spring to stop teasing us and stick around for good.
