Sepia Saturday #26

Sadie hitched a ride with the storage tote taxi service yesterday. I was headed downstairs to fill the empty storage container with Thanksgiving decorations, when Sadie started whining and pawing at my leg, begging me not to leave without her. Since I needed both hands to carry the storage tub and Sadie refuses to walk down the bare wooden stairs, I could only think of one solution. So into the storage container she went. Sadie was very well behaved during her ride, sitting still so she didn’t jostle the storage tub. When we got to the bottom of the stairs, Sadie popped up and started licking me. I guess that was my tip for being a good taxi driver!

Sepia Saturday Bars

Normally bars and dogs mean trouble, i.e. doggy jail. But these bars make Sadie feel happy and safe. These bars are from the railing around our backyard deck. Sadie loves exploring the backyard everyday, but only for about ten minutes at a time. After ten minutes Sadie wants to get onto the cleaner, higher ground of the deck. From there she can easily patrol the yard and monitor any activity nearby. She can even see over the fences into the neighbors’ yards from that vantage point. But what Sadie loves most of all is that when she’s standing on the deck and I’m on the grass, she is exactly the same height as me – perfect for doggy kisses.

Sepia Saturday #24

Sadie and I did some more exploring last weekend. I’m glad we got one more good adventure in before the weather turned really cold. This time we went walking around a pond. You actually couldn’t see the water at all because of the tall plants completely surrounding the whole thing. It was driving Sadie nuts to smell a pond, but not see it at all. She kept trying to burrow through all the vegetation to get down to the water. Eventually I picked her up so she could perch on this rock and stay out of trouble.
