F is for Freeze Frame! – #atozchallenge

Like most dogs, Sadie loves to play with plastic water bottles. As a good mommy I make sure to remove the bottle cap and ring so there are no small parts she can choke on. Well, I try to most of the time, but sometimes that ring is just really difficult to remove. But before you get all upset about the dangers of dogs with plastic bottle rings, I need to mention that my dog comes with a built in safety feature which I like to call freeze frame. Whenever Sadie gets the ring partially off a plastic bottle, she has trained herself to freeze like a statue until I check on her. Continue reading →

Sadie Gets Hung Up

In this flashback photo my little puppy Sadie has her first encounter with a clothes hanger. She was sitting on the bed watching me put away my laundry, when she decided to play with the pile of hangers. At first she just pushed them around with her paws and licked them to see if they taste good. But when I turned around to put something in the closet, the hanger attacked and Sadie got stuck in the center of it. I heard her struggling, so I turned back to the bed and found Sadie sitting calmly, giving me a look like “Of course I meant to do that Mommy. Doesn’t it make a good necklace?”

Spring Cleaning

This weekend I did some Spring cleaning, putting away my warmest clothing until next winter. Sadie decided to help me when I rearranged my socks. She jumped into the bin and started trying to steal pairs of socks. Continue reading →

Sadie the Slipper Stealer

Another form of mischief Sadie enjoys is slipper stealing. She loves to sneak around and take one from the floor and then prance off with her prize. If you’re not careful Sadie even tries to steal a slipper right off your foot when you’re sitting on the couch or a chair. Once she gets a slipper she runs around the house with it, trying to get you to chase her. If no one chases her, Sadie will shake the slipper a few times to make sure it won’t give her any trouble, then she will lie down and fall asleep curled up around her prize. Continue reading →

The Temptation of TP

This picture is a reminder that I need to tell house guests to keep my home dog-proof. A relative was spending the night and noticed that the toilet paper was running out, so they thoughtfully left a brand new roll on the floor in the bathroom. I woke up in the middle of the night to strange sounds coming from the bathroom and noticed that the dog was no longer in bed. I found Sadie sitting on the bathroom floor, using her back paws to keep the roll of toilet paper in place, while her front paws were moving at lightening speed unrolling the tp and shredding it to pieces. I ran to get the camera and caught the picture of her still in action. Continue reading →
