April Showers took on new meaning here today…

Just kidding. April Fool’s!

Today’s aquatic adventures actually involved a bath for my little one.

I always give Sadie a bath a few days before her flea / tick / heartworm medication is due. She does not enjoy a bath, but her protests are mostly limited to giving my sad pathetic puppy eyes. What she really hates is the flea and tick medication. As soon as I apply it on her back she takes off running around the house like crazy trying to get it off of her. Then she ignores me for the rest of the night as my punishment for doing something as horrible as trying to keep her healthy. At least it’s only once a month.

Reminder to all you pet parents who are on a beginning of the month schedule – it’s April 1st. Time to torture our pets with love and give them their flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

Today is the first day of the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge!

  1. Adorable, but so sad! That’s the kind of face Tig gives me when its bath time… between that and the shaking she attempts to make me feel like the worst dogmom ever 🙂 We do natural preventatives, but bathing is important for that too and a great opportunity to check for any lumps or bumps. Happy AtoZchallenge!

  2. Poor baby. Those are some mighty sad eyes. Pop over to my blog and comment for a chance to win a yummy treat. That will cheer her right up. 😉 And thanks for the reminder!

  3. I’m glad I’m not the only one with a dog that hates flea preventative! I’ve been giving Kayo an oral medicine which she has enjoyed because they taste like beef. But they don’t prevent ticks so I’ve just switched to a topical one and she gave me the nastiest look after I put it on. She no likey!

  4. My dogs have learned to love baths – we spread peanut butter on the shower walls :). Keeps them occupied while we suds them down. Interesting about the flea and tick preventative, I don’t use it on my dogs so I don’t have a reference point but I wonder if it’s because it is a colder liquid and also smells chemically?
