These photos come from an absolutely perfect afternoon Sadie and I spent together at the end of the local cherry blossom festival. One of the parks a few towns over actually has over 4,000 cherry blossom trees and I was determined that this year Sadie and I would go see them. Well as usual, life gets in the way, and I had to keep putting off our excursion to this particular park. When we finally found the time to head to the park, it was at the tail end of cherry blossom season. There were still quite a few people there to view the trees, but many were disappointed that they missed out on the full experience. But I don’t think Sadie and I missed out on anything. In fact, I think it was more beautiful than it could have been at the beginning of the season. Because apparently pink cherry blossoms bloom first, followed by white, which last longer. So the park was still filled with beautiful white blossoms, but there were also pink petals everywhere. The ground was covered in pink. The breeze sent showers of pink petals through the air. It was a truly magical experience and I am so glad Sadie was there to share such a beautiful moment with me.
