This Veteran’s Day Sadie and I are making sure to honor all of the brave canine veterans who give their lives to serve and protect this country, just like all of the human veterans out there. These photos of Sadie were taken at the only official memorial to military dogs in the continental US. (There is also a US War Dog Memorial on the island of Guam.) While it doesn’t have the names of the fallen like some of the human memorials, I think this statue wonderfully portrays the grace of service and the pride that dogs feel in a job well done.
