YourDesignerDogBlog: The Adventures of Sadie the Yorkipoo
In honor of National Teddy Bear Day tomorrow, I put my giant stuffed bear on the couch. A few hours later Sadie randomly decided that this teddy bear did not earn his spot on the couch and needed to be taught a lesson. So she tackled him and wrestled him onto the floor. When I put the bear back on the couch, Sadie immediately leapt onto him, making sure he knew who was the boss of the couch.
I’m showing off something a little different for today’s Caturday Art post. Instead of the usual digital art, today we have a handmade mini plushie of my own little Sadie! This adorable little piece of art was made for Sadie by the talented people at VonSelfies.com. Mini Sadie is just so cute, with her little bow and pink bandana. It’s a perfect representation of Sadie’s style and personality. Naturally I couldn’t resist taking some photos of Sadie wearing her own pink bow next to her mini plushie.

In honor of September 11th, Sadie and I visited one of the many memorials we have in our area. This memorial, called the Empty Sky, has metal walls engraved with the names of all those lost on 9/11. These metal walls create a tunnel effect, guiding your eyes towards the portion of the New York City skyline where the Twin Towers used to stand. It’s a beautiful place to visit and remember and reflect upon all the changes in the world since that fateful day.

Sadie is remarkably skilled at making the weirdest places seem comfortable. This is where I found Sadie the other day after returning from the laundry room. She’s managed to find a way to make pouting under the futon more comfortable for herself. And she made sure she has good sight lines from there to all the major exits of the house. It’s the perfect place to pout when your Mommy abandons you to do stupid laundry in the basement.
Sadie was excited to find out what the groundhog predicted this year. I told her not to get her hopes up for an early Spring, especially since we had such a late start to Winter this year. But Sadie was rooting for Spring and she was right! Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow, so Spring is on the way!
