Today I’ve decided to share some #ThrowbackThursday pictures of my little pumpkin’s first Halloween. Unfortunately we didn’t get to celebrate much that year as Hurricane Sandy put a damper on our fun. But Sadie still made quite an adorable pumpkin, even if no one got to see her.

When Sadie was a puppy, she would follow me everywhere. There was no such thing as privacy in my house. Of course that was to be expected with a new puppy and I enjoyed the constant companionship. There was just one problem – Sadie absolutely hated closed doors. As soon as she heard a door close, Sadie would go running to see who was trying to keep her out and why. She would cry and scratch at bathroom doors, bedroom doors, even closet doors. It was like she was afraid that if a door was closed, then she was missing something exciting on the other side.

A Sadie Cat Flashback

Ever since Sadie was a tiny puppy I noticed her exhibiting some typically cat-like behavior. Along with playing alone, the occasional aloof attitude, and using her paws to bat at objects, Sadie also enjoys playing with string. In these photos my little puppy has unraveled the string that was wrapped around me as part of the dress I was wearing. It still makes me laugh when I remember trying to get far enough away to take pictures of her, while Sadie kept pulling me closer with the strings.
