This week’s 52 Snapshots of Life theme is sky. Unfortunately, it’s been really overcast and gloomy here all week, so I didn’t have the chance to capture a beautiful blue sky with fluffy white clouds. But the above photo of Sadie turned out pretty well, despite the sky’s refusal to cooperate. Below is a photo I took on my last cruise, showing the sky at its best. One of my favorite things to photograph is the sky as the sun is setting over the water.

A Day at the Beach

This weekend Sadie, her Grandfather, and I took a day trip to the beach. I packed the car with all kinds of chairs and toys and towels and snacks and we headed out for the hour and a half drive to the beach. The whole way there Sadie was pretty nervous, since she had no idea where we were going. I kept telling her to calm down because we were going somewhere fun, but she didn’t believe me.

These pictures are from Sadie’s very first trip to the beach last year! It was cold that day, so I Sadie and I didn’t go into the ocean at all, but we still had a blast in the sand. When we first got there I stepped onto the beach but Sadie hesitated on the boardwalk. She was looking back and forth from me to the sand, as if asking “Really? I’m supposed to walk on this stuff? It’s ok for me to do that?” Continue reading →
