Collar

Here is Sadie modeling her favorite Spring collar. I’ve found it very difficult to take pictures of Sadie focusing on the collar she is wearing. Either I can get a good photo of the collar, but not Sadie’s face, or if I focus on Sadie’s face, the collar gets obscured by her fur. And Sadie isn’t even that fluffy of a dog – I can’t imagine trying to get a picture of one of the really fluffy dog breeds wearing a collar!

This particular collar is from a brand we love, Yellow Dog Designs, and was bought from and personalized by HotDogCollars.com. Check out this review we did of a similar collar also by Yellow Dog Designs from HotDogCollars.com.

Wildflowers or Weeds

While out for a walk, Sadie and I noticed some tiny yellow flowers scattered in the grass. Sadie and I weren’t sure whether these cute little yellow blossoms were actually wildflowers or weeds, but either way Sadie and I thought they were a nice spot for a rest and some photos. I think this quote from Eeyore of A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh sums up my feelings nicely: “Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them.” It doesn’t matter to me whether botanists would consider them wildflowers or weeds, those little yellow blossoms brought a smile to our faces and showed us some beauty in an unexpected place.

Which Flowers Are Safe For Your Pets?

If you’re thinking about planting a garden or just planting a few flowers to make your home look nice, you need to consider which flowers are safe for your furry family members. There are many flowering plants that are toxic or cause health issues for pets (See my list of flowers toxic to pets here). It would be best to keep your pets from eating any plants in general, as you never know what your pets will react to. But sometimes dogs will be dogs and insist on eating things they are not supposed to. So it’s best to make sure that the flowers in and around your home are the safest types for your pets. That’s why I’ve complied this list of the safest flowers to have around your pets.

Caturday Art #4

Sadie found some wildflowers during a nice walk in the park. Am I a bad Mom for always laughing when I watch Sadie next to flowers? She tries to sniff them, but she can’t because most flowers are taller than her. The mushrooms were not actually there, just part of the digital effect. I don’t think I’d let her get that close to real mushrooms. They make me nervous since I can’t tell which ones are poisonous. But I liked the whimsical fairy meadow feel they brought to this picture.
