Thanks for liking us! Sadie and I really appreciate all the love!
Sadie is not the typical food motivated dog. The vet calls her a grazer; she eats a little at a time and rarely cleans her plate. Because of this I usually leave a bowl of dry food out all the time for her to snack on whenever she feels like it. Normally that’s not a problem, but for some reason Sadie has decided that lately she needs a snack in the middle of the night. I’ll be fast asleep when suddenly I’m woken up by a crunching sound at four in the morning.
I drag myself out of bed and find Sadie in the middle of the living room surrounded by food. She is so picky with her dog food that she takes mouthfuls of food, spreads them out on the living room rug, and goes through the individual pieces, picking out the ones she wants to eat. When she’s done there’s usually a dog food minefield covering the living room floor, waiting for groggy humans too tired to turn the light on to accidentally step on and smash into the carpet.

What a silly girl she is! I love it!! That is too adorable! Dakota just inhales his food!
So funny! One of my cats does the same sort of thing. If I give him dry food, he has to take it out of the dish and put it on the floor before he will eat it. Furchildren are silly people 🙂
BOL! I am also a late night eater but not quite so picky!
My granddog Pierre was used to having food all day long. Since he is staying with us, I have changed him to two meals daily when my Basset Bentley eats. He was hesitant at first but now eats all of his food. He still takes it out of the bowl and sets it on the carpet. BOL!
I guess its okay since she never finishes her food. Have you tried to moisten her food or even add some salmon oil. Give it a try. Happy Tasty Tuesday. Golden Woofs
Thanks for the advice! I’ll try some different ways to moisten her food this week.
